SMASHsolar Selected Finalist at 2016 New Energy Global Startup Fest

Troy Tyler presented the SMASHmount break-through design to an audience of over 1,000 people.

SMASH CEO, Troy Tyler, participated in the 2016-17 New Energy Global Startup Fest in Astana, Kazakhstan. From a competitive field, SMASHsolar was selected as one of 30 Finalists who won the right to represent its country and industry in an exhibit at the 2017 World EXPO in Astana next summer.  Since their beginning in London 1851, World Expositions have been a launching pad for many inventions that are now mainstays of daily life such as the telephone, x-ray scanner, zipper, ice-cream waffle cups, TV set, and touch screens.

The New Energy team selected 100 innovative startups almost 800 nominees from around the world to compete for the opportunity to attend the upcoming EXPO.  Each company pitched at the event in front of a jury of international clean tech experts gathered to help launch the best solutions to grow the "green economy."

Troy's winning presentation showed how SMASHsolar’s innovations break down barriers that are restricting residential solar adoption and transform residential solar installations. At the current rate of installation, it will take over 125 years to meet the current demand in the US! Homeowners and our environment cannot wait that long.

With the launch of SMASHmount integrated modules, installers now have the ability to install scalable residential systems in half the time with lower skilled workers. Using the latest, dual-glass modules and revolutionary design, SMASHmount is ready to disrupt an industry that is in need of transformation.
